Mclean (the middle pic) wrote a song "American Pie" ( the first pic is thus related to it) which was loosely based on the plane crash more popularly known as the day the music died. The song had references to Bob Dylan in the song as a jester.
Thus the connect is the song, "American Pie" by Mclean
